We chose Morangie House Hotel as a convenient overnight stop from Northumberland to Scrabster to catch the ferry to Stromness. It proved a comfortable hotel with a pleasant room, good, attentive staff, a pleasing restaurant and generous breakfast. If we were to make a similar journey we would return.
The hotel drive needs an additional layer of gravel to make it more acceptable in wet weather.

Very attractive hotel both in the interior and exterior. Conveniently located and easily found. Room was large and well appointed and staff very accomodating.
There was a clock above the headboard that ticked. Although it was quiet, as I am a light sleeper I would have prefered it wasn't there.

Convenient location,good staff,good beds,very good breakfast.
Potholes in driveway, unkempt exterior of boilding, poor shower unit-mould around bath (room 3),nobody seemed to know where the blankets (that should have been in the room cupboard) were stored.

One of the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed. Beautiful country hotel with spacious and clean room. The full English breakfast (with Haggis) was very very good! The Price was resonable and fair.

The hotel was very welcoming and the accomodation was spacious and clean. The food was very good with a wide selection of choices and was excellent quality.
The resteraunt service was a bit slow and not up to the standard it used to be 7 years ago.

Although the weather was wet and cold the hotel was warm and inviting. Our rooms were lovely and big and very comfortable, warm and clean. The ambiance is great and the fireplace lends towards a relaxing pleasant area to spend chatting to friends and family. The dining room and food was divine and even the teenage girls found something enjoyable on the menu. Our stay at Morangie House Hotel made our Scottish holiday even more memorable.

Very relaxing, excellent breakfast, good facilities, especially as my wife is disabled, helpful, polite staff. We stayed only one night, visiting family locally.

Accommodating people working here, lovely welcoming and quirky place. Large breakfast, outstanding food choice. Good location with free parking available just off plentiful freshly cooked food for breakfast, restaurant and the ferry to Stromness.
Beds were too soft.

Service in the dining area was slow. The background music seemed to be more for the benefit of the young staff than for the older customer. I do like contemporary music, but not so loud and not at breakfast and dinner. The desk staff was very accommodating and pleasant.

The position of the hotel was unbeatable, in the region. Moreover, it was close enough to the estuary, the centre of Tain and beach.
